Interview with Plamena Miteva

Hello, Plamena! Please introduce yourself and tell us about your experience so far.

My name is Plamena Miteva, and I have been a Mortgage Broker at Creditchoice Ltd. since the beginning of the year. I have over 15 years of experience in the banking sector as a credit consultant, senior credit consultant, and later as a bank branch manager. I love working with clients, which is why I decided to continue doing the same, but now at Creditchoice Ltd. I feel truly at home here because I have the time for both my work and my family.

 

Tell us about your successes in 2024.

Since the beginning of the year, I have consulted 110 clients and assisted in finalising 49 loans—3 business loans and 46 for individuals. At Creditchoice Ltd., I’ve been able to build upon what I learned at the two banks where I previously worked, and I am now familiar with all banks and their products. Because of this, even during the initial meeting with a client, I already know which bank would be most suitable for them in terms of conditions and possibilities.

 

What types of clients turn to you?

I am glad to have retained long-term clients from my previous workplaces who continue to trust me. My clients include civil servants from various institutions and professionals from the IT sector. Since I am fluent in English, a portion of my clients are foreigners living in Bulgaria.

 

How do you help a client who wants to take out a loan from a bank?

I help every client by providing them with peace of mind through what I call my “calmness pill,” because for many people, a loan represents something negative. I strive to shift their mindset so they view a loan with a positive attitude—seeing it as a means to buy a car, a property, or even go on a trip. In other words, taking a loan doesn’t mean making life harder; it means making it easier and better. Therefore, the right approach is for every loan to be assessed based on the client’s current situation and their capabilities over the coming years.

 

How does a meeting between you and your client usually proceed?

One of the great things about my job as a Mortgage Broker is the freedom to meet with my client at a time and place convenient for both parties—whether in my office, their office, over coffee, etc. During a meeting, I take a friendly and well-meaning approach because the client needs to share everything about themselves. Thanks to the information I receive, I can assist them in finding suitable bank offers. Every client has their own specific concerns about sharing sensitive information, so trust between us is vital.

 

What advice would you give to people who need financing?

We are a credit intermediary registered with the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), and we provide choices for our clients when they are looking for a loan. Everyone’s lifestyle is so fast-paced and busy; that is why they can trust a Mortgage Broker from Creditchoice Ltd.
