About Plamena Miteva
What new responsibilities are you taking on as Key Account Manager at Creditchoice Ltd., and how did your experience as a Credit Consultant prepare you for this transition? As a Key Account Manager, I am taking responsibility for attracting new clients at both the individual and corporate levels. I will support everyone at Creditchoice so we can grow and achieve our shared goals while maintaining our professional standards. I want people to recognise us and be certain that we are their solution. For me, every client is key; every step I have taken has been in the name of helping. When you are dedicated, consistent, and love what you do, it is always noticed and appreciated.
What is your experience with clients and banking products throughout your career? I have been in the banking sector since 2008. Over the years, I have moved through various positions with increasing responsibilities and competencies, offering the full range of products for individuals – from basic accounts to investments, insurance, and loans.
What is the most important thing your clients should know when working with you in this new role? Not just in this new role, but always – I am on their side, and their requests and desires are important to me.
How do you approach building long-term relationships with clients? Both friendly and professional, showing them that they matter to me and that I understand them. This involves maintaining regular contact, providing follow-up service, and responding to their questions and requests.
What motivates you most in your daily work? I love working with people. Seeing their sense of security and peace of mind, knowing that trusting me was the right decision, is what motivates me. The gratitude in their eyes and their words is everything.
Which moment from the last two years most clearly showed you that you are in the right place? The desire to do what I do every day, the energy I have every morning, and knowing that I work with people who are also my friends. Also, hearing from Maria Petkova and my colleagues that I am missed at events, gatherings, and in the office.
How would you describe yourself as a professional in three words? Competent, understanding, and an honest strategist.
What will your work with colleagues look like in your new position? The same as before – a pleasure.
In your opinion, what makes a manager a good partner for the team? The ability to talk to everyone, to help, and to provide ideas and guidance. Sharing experience and knowledge with the team to improve overall customer service.
What advice would you give to a colleague who wants to develop in this direction? To study, never give up, and love working with clients.

How does your experience with various banking products help clients navigate the significant changes in the Bulgarian mortgage market? The knowledge and experience I have definitely helped, as I can explain the benefits and advantages of each product and how to use them correctly. In conversation with each client, we clarify which loan and which bank will truly serve them best.
What is most important when applying for a first mortgage, and what are the most common mistakes clients make? Clients need to be clear about what they are buying and why. They should look for the best solution for their specific case, not just the lowest interest rate. The interest rate is just a number, but everything else that accompanies the deal—fees, insurance, credit cards, service accounts, and other bank requirements—is vital. One must look at the details of the whole picture.
Why is maintaining contact with your Credit Consultant (or Key Account Manager) crucial even after the loan is disbursed? Maintaining this connection is important because the consultant knows the smallest details of your loan, deal, and property. They can always help and assist with subsequent actions, requests, or questions.
Besides the interest rate, what are the “hidden” costs and conditions that determine the real cost of a mortgage? The costs are not hidden; they are clear and explained by us to every client from the very beginning. Our role in clarifying everything is key to helping the client make an informed decision. The total cost of a loan includes the interest rate, monthly fees, property and life insurance, credit card fees, and any additional products required by banks.
How can clients improve their creditworthiness before applying for a home or mortgage loan? Taking out a mortgage is a decision everyone makes individually. They should certainly be financially prepared, have a clean credit record (CCR), and optimise their expenses/loans if necessary. They should reach out to us to discuss the process so they know what to expect and can remain calm. Having a vision for their subsequent steps is essential.
What are the advantages of an independent credit intermediary over applying directly to a bank? With us, the client receives information and comparisons across several or all banks. They definitely save time and money. Our comparison includes all the specific features and requirements of each bank. They receive help throughout the entire communication and process. In many cases, the client’s first actual meeting with the bank is at the notary for the final deal.
