Interview with Silvia Tanina

Hello, Silvia! Please introduce yourself and tell us about your experience so far.

My name is Silvia Tanina, and I am the Deputy Manager and Sales Team Leader at Creditchoice. I have nearly 16 years of professional experience in sales and client consulting, with over 9 of those years spent in banking institutions. I have been with Creditchoice since its inception more than 6 years ago. I started as a Mortgage Broker, and at the beginning of 2023, I took on the position of Sales Team Leader.

 

Tell us about your team.

My team works at the Creditchoice office located at 89 Al. Stamboliyski Blvd., opposite the Mall of Sofia. I am responsible for a team of four Mortgage Brokers. We primarily consult clients on residential, consumer, and business loans.

 

What is important for a team to be successful?

In my opinion, for a team to be successful, there must first be mutual trust among its members. In our daily work, we strive to collaborate, help each other, and work together as a unit to serve our clients. As a leader, I assist my colleagues in structuring loans, participate in meetings with clients to resolve more complex cases, and help them communicate with partner banks to achieve the best outcome for the client.

 

Tell us about your team’s successes over the past year.

In the past year, my team and I served over 270 clients and facilitated more than 320 loans. I am proud to share that my colleagues and I achieved excellent results. Because of these great outcomes, during the annual general meeting of the entire Creditchoice team in January, we received awards from the manager, Mariya Petkova, for teamwork and excellent sales performance for 2023.

 

What types of clients turn to you?

We primarily work with clients who have been referred to us by other customers satisfied with our work and service. For us, this is the best possible evaluation. We have clients from various sectors—the IT sector, pharmacy, the mining industry, and more. We also work with both small and large employers, consulting their employees at their workplace or in our office. Additionally, we consult business owners who want to apply for a mortgage using proven income from their companies.

 

What advice would you give to people who need financing for a property purchase?

I recommend that clients take advantage of the services of a credit intermediary even before they find a property. A Mortgage Broker will conduct research based on the client’s profile and provide several offers from different banks, allowing the client to choose the best one for them. We strive to make the client feel they have come to the right place the moment they step into our office. I would also advise clients to trust only registered credit intermediaries, as their activities are regulated.
